The Autism Society of British Columbia provides a access to a large variety of information for: members, professionals, parents and the media, here's some of what's available:


Packages:

  • Autism Parent Information Package: an introduction to what Autism Spectrum Disorder is and what services are generally available. This package is undergoing updating, please check-back for new information
  • Asperger Syndrome Information Package: an introduction to Asperger Syndrome and what services are generally available. This package is undergoing updating, please check-back for new information
  • BC Special Education Services Package:   information on Ministry of Education's special education policies and the rights of parents (available by request only)
  • Educators Package: material on teaching strategies for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (available by request only)
  • Self-Help Advocacy Information: The Autism Society of British Columbia has designed this self-help section in an effort to assist parents and caregivers in advocating on behalf of the individual with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Brochures and Pamphlets: a variety of general use brochures as well as information on available professionals and services as well as "How To" documents, inclusive of topics like: Things to Look for in a Behavioural Plan of Intervention, Questions to Ask Service Providers, etc. It should be noted that in addition to the general parent/professional packages, the Autism Society maintains information on a number of topics as well as a full-service Provincial lending library.

Newsletters & Media Releases:

Available funding, home and community supports: included in the following three sections are a description of services, downloadable documents and links to other supporting agencies or organizations. This area is currently undergoing updating, please check back for further details.
