Cyndi Gerlach

I reside on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish people, specifically, the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and the səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations (North Vancouver), with my husband and my three grown sons, two of whom are diagnosed autistic.

I was diagnosed with autism in 2020 at the age of 57, and I believe the entire spectrum of autism must be represented in every area of advocacy. I strongly believe in removing the stigma and the barriers experienced by autistic people every day and advocating for a world that accepts people for who they are.

I turned my backyard into a vegetable garden and an apple orchard with 13 varieties. It’s my oasis, where you will find me when I am not trying to make the world more autistic-friendly.
