We’re thrilled that our membership has grown so much over the past four years. In 2017, we had roughly 1,200 members. Today that number has grown to nearly 7,000! To better engage our growing membership and community in a meaningful way, we have restructured our membership into two categories: Community Members and Society Members.
You will have access to all our programs, services, supports, and inclusive events outlined on our current membership page.
You will have access to all the things our Community Members do, but you’ll have additional benefits and responsibilities under AutismBC’s bylaws which govern voting, general meetings, electing directors, and other governance matters:
- You will have the right to vote at general meetings on issues affecting AutismBC and its members.
- You can pursue a director position on the AutismBC Board of Directors and be part of electing AutismBC’s directors.
- You can share your feedback with AutismBC’s leadership through annual surveys and member engagement activities.
These new bylaws better protect your privacy.
- Society Members have access, upon request, to the contact information contained in the registry of Society Members as is stipulated in recent changes to the Society Act. The disclosure as required by the Societies Act of B.C. will be made clear to all Society Members.
