Come meet and play with other kids who love Minecraft over a moderated Zoom video call and on the private\, white-listed server. \nWhen: April 27\, 2023 from 6:00 – 7:30pm \nWho: If you are a seasoned Minecraft player\, join this Intermediate/Advanced Club!  The Elysium Minecraft server is a whitelisted supportive and inclusive environment. It is available any time outside the monthly event for unstructured\, safe play and social connection. This AutismBC Social Minecraft Club is administered by Michael & Serene\, program volunteers with the Elysium team.  \nWhile activities may range from month-to-month\, we will be playing on Elysium’s modded RPG survival world. Come in costumes if you like! \nThis event will be a low-key event — we will be playing games.  If you have a Pokemon-themed game or puzzle\, please bring it along. \nNo need to bring anything else\, unless\, of course\, you want to trade cards or show off your Pokemon stuff! \nThis month we will be playing a game of my own design.  This is the key part – to set up for the game\, I will be hiding Pokémon cards all around the PAFN.  It is critical that you ask the club members not to touch the cards before we start the game!  They can look if they want\, but no touching!!!   \nEveryone will get prizes for the game at the end and these prizes will likely be candy themed for valentines day.  If your child does NOT like candy\, or has a food intolerance\, please send me an email so I can make sure they get a non-food based prize.  Also\, make sure they remind me at game time in case my mind forgets! \nPlease be advised the PAFN may be video recording some of our meetings to showcase our group. If this makes you uncomfortable\, please let us know\, and we can try to have you move to a different area during filming. Although I cannot guarantee that you won’t appear in a photo during this event\, please keep that in mind. \nSpecial thanks to the PAFN and AutismBC for their generous support of our club.   \n*Older participants are welcome as volunteers/mentors. DESCRIPTION:AutismBC Socials offer community members with common interests and hobbies a way to connect openly and safely online. Computer Minecraft Club is an inclusive space for Minecraft enthusiasts to come together and play! Our mission is to inspire connection through sharing tips\, tricks\, and playing together.  \nWe bring you our monthly events in partnership with Elysium\, a non-profit building a Minecraft community for neurodivergent kids. Come meet and play with other kids who love Minecraft over a moderated Zoom video call.  \nTo register\, all participants must have or be willing to sign up for:  \n\nComputer Minecraft Java Edition for PC/Mac (not for iPad\, tablet\, or mobile devices) \n\nIf you are a seasoned Minecraft player\, join this Intermediate/Advanced Club! \nWhile activities may range from week to week\, we will most often be playing on Elysium’s modded RPG survival world. You will be able to: \n\nBuild your own survival base\nLevel up and earn in-game money by picking up a job such as mining\, hunting or crafting\nBuy\, sell and trade resources from shopkeepers and other players \nComplete parkour challenges and fight mobs to win prizes\nAnd more! \n\nAt this time\, participants must be playing Minecraft Java Edition for PC/Mac only. SUMMARY:AutismBC Socials: Sibling Support Group  (Kelowna)
DESCRIPTION:Siblings groups are specifically for the siblings of kids and adults on the autism spectrum. \nThese groups are facilitated by parents to give siblings a chance to connect with other siblings while participating in fun activities.  \nThe Kelowna Sibling Support Group is intended for children 9 -13 yrs old.  \nThis month we are going to be decorating a gingerbread house. \n\nWe will supply the already assembled houses and decorations; all you need to bring is your imagination!\n\n\nRegister HERE \nSpace is limited and registration is required to join the social group. \nPlease note: Only sign up the youth\, not the caregivers\, who will be taking place in the activity. \nJanis’ houses does have two dogs\, which will be put away during the group session\, in case someone has allergies we wanted to let you know. We could also use a couple of volunteers to help the kids with the decorating.
