Board of Directors
Laurie Guerra has been an active board director of Autism BC for over 13 years, ever since her son was diagnosed with autism. Laurie is a strong advocate for science-based autism treatment which led her son to achieve best outcomes. She was a director of Autism BC and has served the organization in a number of ways including chairing the Community Networking Committee and leading the Surrey Parent Support Group. In addition to this role, Laurie held the role of Secretary of the Board for the past two years and was then elected President of Autism BC in November, 2016. Prior to that, Laurie held the position of Chair of the Community Council for Surrey under the Ministry for Children and Family Development, Community Living (CLBC) branch. As a mature student, Laurie is currently pursuing her degree in Political Science with a Minor in Psychology at Athabasca University.
