As of January 15, 2026, MCFD have announced changes to the following forms related to Autism Funding:
- Autism Funding Non-BCAAN (private) Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (CF0904).
- Confirmation of Previous Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (CF0905).
The updated forms are available on the BC Government website.
Key updates include:
- Updated criteria for diagnosing autism spectrum disorder from DSM-4 to DSM-5-TR.
- Introduced the term “Regulated B.C. Professional” to describe the professionals who can diagnose autism for the purpose of applying for Autism Funding (these professions remain unchanged and include pediatrician, psychiatrist, and registered psychologist with education, training, and supervised experiencing diagnosing autism).
- Clarified the instructions for including multidisciplinary reports for Under-Six Non-BCAAN applications. Cognitive/developmental and speech-language assessments can be attached separately, or results can be embedded within the diagnostic report.
- Reflected the temporary suspension of the requirement for pediatrician reports for Under-Six Non-BCAAN applications.
- Removed the Professional Recommendations Domains table. While these domains are important factors in support planning with families, they are not required to apply to Autism Funding.
While older versions of the Non-BCAAN and Confirmation of Previous Diagnosis forms will still be accepted by Autism Funding, MCFD encourages you to download and use the latest version to prevent unnecessary delays in processing.
