Annual General Meeting for the Autism Society of British Columbia (AutismBC)

Purpose of the meeting:

Exciting things are coming for AutismBC in 2024–2025, and we’d love to hear from you. As our Society Members, you’re welcome to join and vote!

AutismBC’s mission is to empower, support, and connect the autism community in BC so that autistic people can live their best lives. As a non-profit and registered charity, we work towards the inclusion and acceptance of the autism community. We value the lived experience of our team and members. We prioritize listening to our members and making decisions that reflect their needs and wants.   

What you can expect during the meeting:

• You will vote to elect Directors to the Board of Directors (Autism BC Board composition is made up of no fewer than seven and no more than fifteen
• You will receive the society’s Financial Statements for its fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, and the Auditors’ Annual Report; (Policy 5.4)) 
• You will vote to reappoint Auditors for the next year;   
• Nominations must be submitted in advance of an election, in accordance with such deadlines as may be established by the Board; and (Bylaw 5.12e) nominations will not be permitted from the floor at the General Meeting (Bylaw 5.12f) If you’re interested in becoming a board member, please submit a letter of intention to Jon Przybyl.
• Please submit your questions to Jon Przybyl, Chair, by October 10, 2024, as live questions will not be received from the floor during the AGM. 

Who should attend:

• The meeting is open to AutismBC Society members only. 

• As a valued community society member, one of the main requisites is attending our AGM, we hope to see you there.   

• Please register by October 5^th, 2024.

The week before the meeting, we will send a Zoom Link, agenda, and any other AGM documents to the email address associated with your society membership.
