AutismBC Goes to Barkerville and the Gold Rush: An Indigenous People’s Perspective

Join us for a virtual discussion hosted at Barkerville Historic Town and Park Sunday, September 12th from 11-12.
Barkerville and the Gold Rush: An Indigenous People’s Perspective – Dahooja, Weyt-kp, Hadih! We invite your classroom to join Secwépemc (Shuswap) interpreters live from their home near Mountain House, on the Cariboo Waggon Road, aka the Gold Rush Trail. This session is broadcast from Cmetēm (Deep Creek) in the territory of Xatśūll First Nation (Soda Creek Indian Band). Share in stories and cultural practices. Learn perspectives of the gold rush and beyond from the original peoples of the land. People can ask questions and participate in the discussion of Canada’s path to Reconciliation.
Duration: 60 minutes hosted on Zoom.
