AutismBC Goes to Victoria Butterfly Gardens (FULL)
February 4 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
We’re thrilled to offer a Sunday afternoon visit to the Victoria Butterfly Gardens with our Vancouver Island Regional Coordinator Sarah Taylor.
Victoria Butterfly Gardens presents a unique opportunity for individuals of all ages to immerse themselves in the wonders of a tropical jungle. The adventure begins with Sarah’s warm welcome and introduction, providing insights into the Gardens and setting the tone for an unforgettable experience.
As you explore the grounds, be prepared for surprises at every turn. Encounter a fascinating array of creatures, including poison dart frogs, tortoises, large iguanas, flamingos, tropical ducks, and free-flying tropical birds. Marvel at the diversity of tropical fish swimming in serene ponds and streams, all surrounded by the soothing sounds of a stunning waterfall.
The highlight of the visit lies in the magical world of butterflies. It’s an awe-inspiring sight with up to 70 species fluttering around in facilities equivalent to almost 3 basketball courts. Stroll through lush gardens adorned with tropical flowers, carnivorous plants, and an array of fruits from around the world.
This event is crafted to provide a sensory-rich experience for everyone, ensuring a memorable and inclusive adventure for autistic individuals and their families. Come together as a community to explore, learn, and connect in the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of the Victoria Butterfly Gardens.
