AutismBC GTOTS Goes Picnic + Games at John Hendry Park (Trout Lake Park)
July 2 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Come for a relaxed picnic-hang out in the park. Meet and get to know fellow autistic adults, and members of the Getting Together on the Spectrum (GTOTS) support group, and play some games together. Sometimes it is great to connect with someone who “gets it” and to be recharged and uplifted to keep going for the next little while.
GTOTS support group is a place for adults on the spectrum to share their personal journeys with autism, as well as the challenges they face, in a safe and supportive environment. Everybody’s lived experiences and personal stories are important. Please feel free to join, listen or share! We’ll have some group conversations about the importance of community inclusion, making communities more accessible, and any other topics members of the group want to talk about.
How: Please register ahead of time so we can bring enough snacks and know how many people to expect.
When: Sunday, July 2nd, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Where: Covered Area, John Hendry Park (Trout Lake Park), Vancouver, BC V5N 2J5
Who: Autistic Adults or people who identify as being on the autism spectrum (Diagnosed + Self/Late Identified/Diagnosed welcome)
Cost: FREE
Additional Info: The location has a shelter, and a washroom close by and is about a 10-minute walk from Nanaimo Skytrain Station. There is a sheltered area, tables, and benches, and is right by a public washroom. There are a lot of grass areas and a small lake beach. Consider bringing a rug or blanket to sit on, or other seating if you prefer. Feel free to bring a game and snacks with you if you wish! Engage as much or as little as you like.
