Minecraft Club: Play, Compete, Connect
Ready to level up your game?

Minecraft Club is designed for children and youth who are comfortable in Minecraft and looking for a higher-energy, more competitive experience. These sessions are perfect for players who enjoy fast-paced mini-games, lively Zoom chats, and friendly competition, while still playing fair and making new friends.

Whether you’ve played on servers before or just love a bit of chaos and creativity, Minecraft Club is your place to connect with others who share your love of the game.

Minecraft Club, hosted by Elysium, is part of AutismBC’s Socials program. This program aims to create inclusive spaces for kids, teens, and youth to connect through shared interests. Participants will learn about Minecraft, share tips, and enjoy playing together in a supportive and friendly environment.

How:

  • Monthly Minecraft Socials hosted in partnership with Elysium, a non-profit dedicated to building a Minecraft server community for neurodivergent kids.
  • Meet and play with other kids who love Minecraft in a supportive, moderated environment.
  • Participate in the fun over a Zoom video call and on a private, white-listed Minecraft server.
  • Enjoy a safe, inclusive space tailored for neurodivergent players to connect and share their love for Minecraft.

When:  Last Thursday of each month from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm (This bonus session in September makes up for the postponed August session due to facilitator availability.)

Where:

  • Minecraft Server: The program takes place on a private, white-listed Minecraft server hosted by Elysium. This server is exclusively accessible to registered participants, ensuring a safe and controlled environment for all players.
  • Zoom Video Call: Participants connect to the program via Zoom for real-time interaction with their peers. The Zoom call serves as a platform for socializing, guidance, and support throughout the session.

Who:

  • AutismBC members and their children: This program is specifically designed for children and youth who are members of AutismBC and their families.
  • Ideal Participants:
    • This program is ideally suited for children and youth who:
    • Are already familiar with Minecraft and have been playing for over a year
    • Are comfortable navigating gameplay independently
    • Are looking to engage in more complex, fast-paced, and collaborative challenges
    • Want to explore advanced game mechanics and deepen their skills within a supportive, social environment
    • May have previous experience on the Elysium server or similar moderated servers

Program Administration:

  • Michael and Serene, program facilitators with the Elysium team, administer the Intro to Minecraft sessions and provide support to ensure a welcoming, inclusive environment for all participants.

What:

The program offers a supportive environment for neurodivergent children and youth to further develop their Minecraft skills and connect with peers in a safe, moderated setting. Geared toward intermediate to advanced players, this program is ideal for those who are already comfortable with the basics of Minecraft and are looking to take their gameplay to the next level.

The Elysium Minecraft server is whitelisted to ensure a secure space for all participants and remains open outside of the monthly events for unstructured, safe play and ongoing social connection.

While activities may vary each month, sessions will primarily take place in Elysium’s modded RPG survival world and focus on more advanced gameplay, including:

  • Complex building and redstone engineering
  • In-depth survival strategies and exploration
  • Advanced farming, resource management, and pet taming
  • Engaging in a dynamic in-game economy through trading
  • Collaborative challenges such as build battles, team quests, and mini-games that encourage strategy, communication, and teamwork

AutismBC Socials

Social clubs are a great way to make friends, build confidence, and strengthen communities. AustismBC has been a supporter of social clubs for autistic kids, teens, and adults as well as siblings and friends. We assist with various aspects of these clubs so our staff and volunteers can do what they do best: support and connect the autism community through inclusive groups, clubs, and events.
