Are you interested in learning how to better support autistic people in your community? Do you want to make your space more inclusive and accessible for all neurotypes?
Our What is Autism? workshop is a great place to start your learning. Developed with insights from autistic self-advocates, family members, and professionals, this 1.5-hour session offers guidance on creating welcoming environments that reflect the needs and voices of the autistic community.
Session Format
- Presentation: 55 minutes
- Break: 5 stretch minutes
- Q&A: 30 minutes
Key Learnings
Participants will:
- Dispel common myths and stereotypes about autism
- Explore sensory profiles and understand how sensory experiences impact daily life
- Discuss self-regulation strategies and ways to support them
- Build empathy by understanding how autistic people may experience the world
- Gain practical tips for offering meaningful, individualized support
